- Is the control that the primal has on our lives. It tells us to do many things, including to procreate.

Trite BUT True:
Matriarchal (single) home/family:
Emphasis on kitchen, great tools and gadgets
Emphasis on slow cooking, everyone comes to eat, food is good
Mama needs help, make time
When is football season?
“Don’t upset Mom!”
Patriarchal (single) home/family:
Emphasis on yard, it’s beautiful
Dad will order out
Dad needs help?
Football reigns supreme, know the players and the schedule
Okay to upset Dad, “he can deal with it…”

The Intensity
Life seems to be a series of intensities, that are created by beginnings and endings. The lovely dance in between is often defined by these intensities, these beginnings and endings.Any relationship that you are in is a collection of experiences. Experiences have many facets to them and will represent the emotional, mental and physical aspects of a moment in time. All of your experiences in a relationship affect how you continue to feel and think about the relationship.
Each encounter is an experience that leaves an imprint. Each imprint a guidepost for the future of the relationship. The details of the event may be buried deep in the psyche, but the experience remains as a reliable memory: how did it feel, what did I think, how did my body feel?
And while the encounter is just that important to the fabric of the relationship, there is the other piece which is the way that I think about the relationship when I am not with you. At times, I will think of you as a person, such as “He sure is smart.” At other times I may think of you as the experience that I have of you, meaning that if our latest encounter is a happy one, then my thoughts will be pleasant and even happy.

Management by…
I read about Management By Wondering Around (MBWA). I have also read the One Minute Manager. I thought both concepts were great.I do not, however, understand “Management by Feelings”. Who in their right mind, keeps people employed because they like them?

I’m Entranced by the Level of Insight….
Tyson posts: Im starting to realize that I take my hobbies so seriously, that they aren’t fun anymore. I am so bent on being successful, that I no longer enjoy doing it. The high of the success is the only thing that keeps me interested, and my dejection when the plan doesn’t come together completely, makes it hard to be happy with even any amount of success. I feel as if my expectations have exceeded my abilities to fulfill them. The realization that I cannot control the outcomes to my level of need, makes it difficult to find any motivation to continue looking for them. -
The Power of We
I was very happy to hear that Blog Action Day 2012 is about The Power of We. I couldn’t help but think that the most important “Power of We” begins in our own heart and in our own home. The micro level of we is where it all must start. Exclusivity cannot exist within the power of we. Power of we requires a new value, a newly unified belief system: Inclusivity. In order for us to begin our process, we must be personally aware of our tendency, either culturally or within our belief system, to be exclusive. Exclusivity gives us what sociologists call “belongingness” and while this is a very good thing – it will not help us with the Power of WE.
We need each other for all that there is to be human.
If you are inclusive, it is much more difficult for you to cheat and steal from others. If you are inclusive, you realize that your own well being is as important as the person who is beside you. If you were to preface your thought and activity with the concept of we; you would find a remarkable change coming over your life. By acknowledging the importance and the value of others, you bring a new energy to every encounter. That energy transforms your encounter into a process that benefits everyone rather than just one. It takes faith and diligence to give power to inclusivity, yet it is the way for making a future for everyone.
As we deal with the awfulness of the “one percenters” and those who have tricked and cheated the world in order to gain for themselves, we can know beyond a shadow of doubt that the “power of we” will prevail. It always has and it always will.

More on Our Bodies…
https://www.linkedin.com/today/post/article/20140523121519-23027997-fed-up-confused-and-still-eating?What, then, do I think we can and should do about all this? Glad you asked:
- Recognize that the overall pattern of the diet matters
- Recognize that the best way to avoid bad foods is to eat good foods instead
- Talk about nutrients less, and foods more
- Acknowledge that the quantity of calories does, of course, count
- Acknowledge that the quality of calories does also, of course, count
- Acknowledge that the best way to control the quantity of calories without being hungry forever is to improve the quality of those calories
- Acknowledge that daily use of feet and forks does involve personal choice, and thus requires personal responsibility
- Acknowledge that to be responsible for anything, people need to be suitably empowered
- Acknowledge that choices we make are in turn dependent on choices we have- both need to be good
- Acknowledge that impulses related to food are deeply rooted in both biology and culture, and thus hard to change
- Acknowledge that culture must adapt to compensate for Stone Age biological impulses that otherwise do harm- whether they are about sex, or food, or anything else
- Acknowledge that no one thing is THE thing wrong with our diets, and no one food or nutrient change will fix it all
- Acknowledge that we need to change the world around us, but can’t just wait on the world to change; in the meantime, we need to empower, and change, ourselves
- Acknowledge that most expert opinion and the weight of scientific evidence support a basic set of fundamentals of healthful eating
- Recognize that the imperfect knowledge we have of optimal nutrition is still enough to eradicate 80% of the total chronic disease burden. If ever there was a case not to make perfect the enemy of good, this is it
- Emphasize to the public what we know best and agree on most about healthful eating, rather than an endless “my diet can beat your diet” parade of contestants
- Work out what we don’t know, while applying to good effect what we do
- Establish a reliable, objective, operationally useful definition of junk food- and then ban all of it. Junk is not food, and food is not junk.
- Identify gaps in the prevailing skill set for healthful living, and establish programs to fill those gaps in all of the relevant settings: schools, worksites, churches, restaurants, cyberspace, supermarkets, and so on.
- Keep pushing on the food supply to change, but take better advantage of the most effective, least contentious way of changing it: changing our demand.

Tyson Kuhn is Back…
Written by this truly unusual person
Trying to make positive changes everyday and not be discouraged by my short comings or past mistakes. I am not perfect. I do not have all the answers. I am not smarter than everyone else. Sometimes humility comes in the form of failure. I’m not afraid of that.
I ask forgiveness from all those I have hurt. Anyone I lied to. Anyone I made feel insignificant or passed over. I am truly sorry. You deserved better.
The saying goes that people don’t change. That people are always going to be whatever they are. I say no. I decide. I decide who I am. How I act. What I think. How I feel. I control and am accountable for everything I say and do. Whether that be my triumphs, or my defeats.
You can take me as I am, but expect more from me. Expect better. Believe that there is something more to me on the inside then where I came from and what I was. Expect me to be a man of principles. A man of honesty. A man of right action. That’s the man I want to be. That’s what you deserved before. That’s the man you deserve now. Maybe I have always been doing it for the wrong reasons. Maybe I was doing it for you when I should have been doing it for me. Maybe it was the other way around. Maybe it was both.
I do know I’m not Superman. I’m not a hero. I’m not a villain. I am NOT a monster. I’m a human being, with vices and skeletons. I’m a man who has loved, and lost. With hopes and dreams. With fears and regrets. With needs and wants.I am a man who has won it all, and lost everything.
And maybe I do fail. And maybe I never make it to the man that I was supposed to be. I mean, let’s face it, many never make it. Many just are who they are with no personal convictions of any kind. With nothing to show for it, and having sacrificed nothing to attempt anything more than mediocrity. What if I can’t make that sacrifice? What if it all comes down to the wire, and I can’t finish what I started? What if I’m all talk? What if I really am a coward? Maybe in the end I just run out of time. Maybe I never make it.
But I don’t think so.There is still time for me to be that man. The one I’m going to need to be to get where I’m going. The one I need to know is really in here somewhere. Don’t give up on me. There is still time. I hope.

Why People Don’t Want to Work
It’s What you think, Corporations are finally being called out.

A statue of Justice holding the scales up high. Let’s just say that the pandemic has transformed us in so many ways. We know this. Right now, we are more careful about our own health, perhaps more grateful for maintaining our own health.
As importantly, the world of work has changed so much. I hear a lot of complaining about the lack of workers to fulfill employment demands. Everyone has an opinion; I even heard a discussion between a stewardess and a passenger on a recent flight I was on. There is almost universal agreement that those who do not have a job are lazy.
I feel compelled to comment ~
Several years ago, I used my company’s EAP program to get into therapy. I needed help coping with a very nasty woman who was my supervisor. I wanted to hang onto the job because it was a great job! The drive was easy, the benefits were out of this world and the salary was good. I really wanted the job. As I talked with the therapist, she also talked with me about her experiences. She said that for a couple of years, she had an influx of fifty-somethings who were fed up with working in a nasty environment. The complaints were the same: supervisors were malicious, demeaning and demanding, often shoveling unrealistic workloads unto subordinates.
The therapist told me that it was the fifty-something group who were struggling with it because they were just fed up. After 30 years of dealing with the willfully not-so-nice, the fifty-somethings were done in. Ready to end the work relationship, they all struggled for coping mechanisms.
Why can’t we get to Fifteen dollars per hour?
Another discussion is the “Fight for Fifteen”. I’ve been in the fight for fifteen for several years now. I hear the stories and I talk with young workers often. It seems that the corporate community has found many ways to rip off the young workers and keep them in poverty. An example of this is the “seasonal staff”, this means someone who will work for less than a livable wage and better yet (better for the corporation, NOT for the human being), will not have any type of benefits. “Seasonal staff” will sometimes work well past the “season” and will end up working for years without a permanent status.
The pathologies of the workforce environment endanger everyone. An insensitive supervisor that is crushed between management and staff can be scared, angry and unreasonable. I read about a young woman who worked at McDonalds. After suffering 2nd degree burns through no fault of her own, she was told to stay at work, or get fired from her job. Just as dangerous are those supervisors who are interested in their own rise / promotions and who abuse their own staff to gain benefits to their career. An example of this is claiming a subordinate’s work as their own or denigrating a subordinate supervisor in front of staff. These are normal daily happenings in the corporate world. Ask the workers, that’s all you need to understand the truth in the corporate world.
The corporation does everything to ensure that you do not know about their abuses. Look at the constant marketing campaign that Amazon must pay for. Staff who wear diapers to work because they are afraid to take a break from the work is an example of this abuse. Amazon drivers are also afraid to take breaks and relieve themselves in a jar rather than pulling over and taking a bathroom break.
If there is any way to get out of these working conditions, people will try it. Somehow the pandemic has given workers time to think and think they have. It’s not worth it to have a life torn apart by stress and cruelty. Workers wake up and realize that what was, does not have to be.
The Big Corporations
Let’s face it, supervisors are often idiotic and narcissistic assholes who don’t deserve their position. The big corporation is another thing altogether, the corporations have carefully crafted the biggest rip-off of all. Take no care of the human being and keep feeding shareholders the dollars that they have NOT earned. Sam Walton of Walmart was first to craft the best ripoff of the American worker, and every money hungry boss in America practices it.

Unsplash by Alexander Schimmeck “Keep people discouraged and whatever you do, give a very, very small raise and ensure that no staff member is eligible for the benefits.” What an awful and mean mindset. The results may make shareholders happy, but my tax dollars are going to the health care and the food stamps that Walmart and McDonald’s workers are consuming. That’s not how I want to spend my tax dollars, how about you?
